April Is Child Abuse Prevention Month
This time of year, for more than ten years now, you may have seen gardens of pinwheels planted in the community, at school, day care or a local hospital or nonprofit organization, and wondered, why? It’s because planting pinwheels represents the bright childhoods we all want for children.
This April, the hope is you will do more than see pinwheels in your community. There are many ways to get involved and learn more, during child abuse prevention month and all year long.
You can show support for promoting positive childhood experiences and preventing adversity by wearing blue on April 1 – National Wear Blue Day and share your picture online #GrowingBetterTogether
Join together on April 1 on the West Steps at the Colorado State Capitol to launch the month-long campaign to grow a better tomorrow for all of our children, together in Colorado, with campaign partners, parents and community members.
In Case of Bad Weather
The event is planned for the West Steps, but we have also permitted the West Foyer. In the event that the weather is poor, we will move the event inside and redirect the event attendees which include representatives from more than 50 state and local campaign partners + family and community supporters.
This event will be broadcast on Facebook Live.
RSVP to receive the link to view online, show your support and be the first to learn how you can WIN a $2,500 grant for your favorite Colorado nonprofit, school or child care provider!
