“Positive thinking often starts with self-talk. Self-talk is the endless stream of unspoken thoughts that run through your head. These automatic thoughts can be positive or negative. Some of your self-talk comes from logic and reason. Other self-talk may arise from misconceptions that you create because of lack of information or expectations due to preconceived ideas of what may happen.”
Reading that passage in the article Let’s Talk Positive thinking: Stop negative self-talk to reduce stress, from the Mayo Clinic, inspired us to want to take some time next Thursday morning to talk about how positive thinking helps with stress management and can even improve you and your child’s health.
Start your day by joining Jade Woodard, executive director of Illuminate Colorado, to talk about positive thinking and listen to a panel of special guests lift up activities planned to raise awareness next month.
In January, we encourage elected officials, community and state partners, educators, employers, parents, caregivers and young people who are passionate about strengthening families to get more involved, collaborate and guide activities for April Child Abuse Prevention Month in 2022. More than one hundred people signed up for that first meeting, but it’s never too late to engage your students, organization and community!
