Programs & Services
We take a public health approach to addressing child maltreatment in Colorado by working on all levels of the Spectrum of Prevention because that is the most effective way to create comprehensive transformation.
What is the Spectrum of Prevention?
The Spectrum of Prevention is a model layering activities and strategies that need to occur at the same time on six different levels in order to effectively address a complex social issue like child maltreatment.
The Spectrum was originally developed by Larry Cohen, MSW, and has been used nationally to address problems related to traffic safety, violence prevention and injury prevention.
